So today I took a flight for business travel. It’s been awhile since I’ve flown. The pilot told us it would be a bumpy ride at the beginning and at the end but that he would try to find us some smooth air in between. Ok, so it was indeed bumpy from the start, and as far as the smooth ride in between, that lasted maybe 30 minutes. Beverage service had to be suspended because the pilot announced we were approaching bad weather.
As I sat in my seat, eyes closed, calling on Jesus while declaring the Word (Hey you know me lol), I began to picture the pilot in the cockpit. I imagined him bracing himself and getting mentally ready to weather the storm. I could see him very attentive, manning the controls, and ready to adjust in the air to ensure that the plane arrives at our destination safely.
When the pilot made his announcement he didn’t say, “Storm ahead, we’ll just hover in the air right here until it passes.” He also didn’t say, “Storm ahead, we’ll turn back to DC.” No, instead he gave us the warning to stay seated, buckle our seatbelt and proceeded to get us to our destination.
There will be storms in this life. I’m facing a little one now. There have been times in the past where I just give up and stand still, doing nothing. There have been times, I go back in the other direction. This time, I will regroup and follow His directions so I can reach my destination!
