You are not required to be the same person you were even just 5 minutes ago!
Maybe this is you:
- Always the shy, quiet one that never has a voice of her own
- Cooks all the greasy, fat, and sweet treats everyone requests and enjoys
- Never says no, even to your detriment
- Puts everyone’s needs above your own
- Over emotional, willing to fight at the drop of hat, just plain messy
- Spends all time and energy supporting everyone’s projects, neglecting the project in you
- Holds grudges (not just for you but on behalf of others) bitter and unable to forgive
- Refuses to admit when you need help and the benefits of relationships
In order to truly transform your life, you have to do the work. No one can do if for you so why do they don’t get a say. When considering change think about these things:
- Will this change glorify my Father in Heaven?
- Will this make me a better woman, wife, and mother?
- Am I willing to do the work?
If you answer yes, then do the work to make the changes. It may ruffle some feathers. But they will adjust or choose to leave the room! 😉

I’ve been reflecting on 2016 while preparing for 2017. I’m sure you have as well. In this process I’ve had to look at the wo(man) in the mirror.
I can make excuses for what I didn’t achieve and point fingers at people and circumstances but why? The only thing I can control is ME.
Honestly, the season can change and the year can change but if I don’t continue my process of transformation I will remain the same.
- I suffered from some procrastination
- I had some fear of failure and success
- My heart was hurt from suffering losses
- At times I tried to please people, “Ha, you know that failed!”
- I had to say I’m sorry for things I’ve done
In 2016 I also thank God:
- I was finally able to get to the root of an issue and let go of an offense that hurt for a long time
- I Stepped out of my comfort zone and created this blog
- I Spoke at 2 women’s conferences and a Women’s Day
- In spite of my losses, I decided not to give up!
- Started sharing with other women biweekly via teleconference.
This list also goes on.
While you are reflecting take note of what you need to work on but also note your accomplishments! Give God Glory and celebrate yourself.
Make a list of what’s left undone and get to work! If you need help, seek it out!

If you are honest with yourself I bet you have had times in your life that you needed help but were in denial. It can feel as a sign of weakness to ask for help when we act in immaturity.
Get the help you need so you can get better, move on, and be of help to others. Denying your need of help is detrimental to your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health.
I’m reminded of the 10 lepers in Luke 17. The Bible says Jesus entered the village and there were 10 men who were lepers. They stood afar off but cried out loud: “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” They were banished to the outskirts because of their condition. So to get the attention of Jesus they had to cry out loud!!!!
When I studied this I couldn’t help but think of the times my answer, my help, my blessing was right in front of me. Even offered to me. All I had to do was acknowledge I needed it. I let pride keep my voice muffled from asking for or accepting the help! I might have whispered I need help, I even acted out emotionally thinking others would just notice my need for help. When all I had to do was ask and/or receive!!!!
No more needless suffering. When help is walking before you, like Jesus walked before the lepers recognize and cry out! Don’t miss your blessing.

Last night we had an awesome session about “What’s Holding You Back?” You can receive a copy of the message for $5. Just send an email to email@example.com.
We discussed that one of the things that hold us back from moving forward is that we have become so accustomed to denying ourselves! We are taught this through the words and actions of our mothers and other women we hold in high esteem.
Yes, the Word of God says we must deny ourselves and pick up our cross in order to follow HIM! Matthew 16:24
We are to deny our flesh and its sinful and lustful desires. But, in order to pick up the cross and follow the Lord’s plans for our lives we have to take “Good” care of ourselves. This is of course spiritually but also mentally, emotionally, and physically.
Do you have a problem saying no to people because you always put others first?
Do you have an issue choosing where you’d like to eat and what you’d like to do during your free time?
During this holiday season do you have a hard time letting others know what you like when asked about gifts?
You might be denying Yourself to a fault! Re-evaluate where you stand in your list of priorities and adjust as necessary. Get to know you. What you need and what you like! You are God’s greatest creation and He wants you to maintain your value!
You know there is more you are to be doing that will not only bless you but the lives of others!
You are sick and tired of the way you look, feel, and behave but haven’t successfully made a change!
You feel stuck in the rut, you have received counsel, you even know the Word of God about the situation but it hasn’t changed!
If any of this resonates with you, join me Wednesday night, 9:00 pm for “What’s Holding You Back?” Share with a friend.

We had a blessed session 12/1/16 talking about Boundaries! Join us next week Wed 12/14/16 at 9:00 p.m. to discuss “What’s Holding You Back?”
Here’s a ‘little’ of what you missed:
Many of us believe we have healthy boundaries in place in our lives but what we really have are walls we use to protect ourselves by shutting people out. Walls can actually keep your blessing out and cause you to be isolated from the very people you need to help you in this season.
You don’t need walls, you need boundaries. Boundaries set healthy guidelines and limits for our relationships. Boundaries help us keep the commandments of God. Boundaries will help foster healthy relationships and identify those aren’t. The key to boundaries is you have to set them and you have to enforce them.
If we look at Genesis 2:16-17 The Lord God placed man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it. But the Lord God warned him, “You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden – except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat it’s fruit, you are sure to die.”
As we see in this scripture God stated the commandment. He could have put angels around the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. He could have put a fence around it but He didn’t. It was up to Adam to set the right boundaries to ensure that he kept the commandments.
Some of the issues and frustration that we are enduring is because of our lack of establishing and enforcing proper boundaries. We have work to do!
Until next time…
